Financing for the documentary Pulsante

The documentary Pulsante was produced by the Instituto Costa Brasilis. Launched in 2017, it is a socially and environmentally oriented short film focused on the natural beauties of the Baía do Araçá, the fishing community’s way of life and the current dilemma faced by the residents of this region due to the conflict stemming from the expansion of the port in São Sebastião, São Paulo. A number of partners were involved in producing the documentary: University of São Paulo Oceanographic Institute, University of Campinas, USP Marine Biology Center, FAPESP or São Paulo Research Support Foundation (Fundação de Amparo à Pesquisa do Estado de São Paulo), local businesses and community members in São Sebastião, on the north coast of São Paulo. The debate about the expansion of the port continues in the region and the production of this film has made an important contribution to this discussion.
