The project consisted of the first phase of mobilization and constitution of a multi-sectoral collaborative platform to deal with marine and coastal issues. IUCN held an inaugural workshop with the participation of several key actors, third sector organizations, government and academia to discuss the initial composition. Thus, it initiated an initiative that allows the combination of efforts and capabilities and the sharing of information to deal with problems and opportunities emerging in the marine-coastal agenda in Brazil. This initiative was then outlined in the form of a collaborative platform called the Brazilian Panel for the Future of the Ocean - PainelMar.
