Two fishermen and representatives of Brazilian artisanal fishing participated in the 2nd World Small Scale Fishing Congress. At the time, the participation of both was funded by the LDA, so that both could attend the event. The objective was to take them to the congress so that they could learn about artisanal fishing experiences from other countries, so that they could live with the researchers and fishermen present at the event and, later, they could report the experience to other fishermen in their communities and / or movements. Greater integration between research and practice was expected within the scope of coastal management.
